The University of Akron Field Station currently organizes field activities and environmental research and education for four main properties: the Dr. Paul E. Martin Center for Field Studies and Environmental Education (a research and teaching building at the Bath Nature Preserve), joint use of the Bath Nature Preserve in Bath township (411 acres, 20 minutes from campus), Steiner Woods (23 acres University-owned, directly adjacent to the Bath Nature Preserve), Panzner Wetland Wildlife Reserve (104 acres of high-quality restored wetlands 10 minutes from campus; now University-owned).
We also have strong working relationships with local and regional land managers, including the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Summit County MetroParks, and Cleveland MetroParks.
